Scholarship Categories

  • Need-Based Scholarships:

    • Eligibility Criteria:

      • Students facing financial hardships, supported by relevant documentation (e.g., financial statements, salary slips).
      • Students impacted by adverse circumstances, such as economic instability or loss of guardians.
    • Application Requirements:

      • Financial documents demonstrating the need.
      • A personal statement explaining how the scholarship will support your educational goals.
  • Merit-Based Scholarships:

    • Eligibility Criteria:

      • Academic Excellence:

        • Outstanding grades or achievements in previous educational qualifications.
        • For BA (Hons) applicants:
          • A combined score of 140 or more in English and Mathematics in the matriculation exam.
          • Achieved A or A+ in at least four subjects in the IGCSE A- Level Exam.
      • Outstanding Achievements:

        • Recognition for mastery in a specific field, such as competitions, publications, or research.
        • Notable contributions to community service or extracurricular activities.
        • Fluency in English or other relevant languages, verified through certifications or evaluations.
    • Application Requirements:

      • Academic transcripts and certifications.
      • Documentation of achievements or awards.
      • Letters of recommendation from educators or professionals.

Scholarship Allocation

  • Award Levels:

    • Scholarships will be granted at 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of tuition fees based on the applicant's qualifications and performance during the selection process.
  • Distribution Across Categories:

    • Both need-based and merit-based applicants are eligible for all scholarship levels.

Selection Process

  • Submission:

    • Applicants must submit your applications via email to scholarship@lbu.edu.mm, clearly indicating your scholarship category and the program you are applying for.
  • Interview Requirement:

    • All applicants must pass an interview conducted in English. You will deliver a 5-minute speech on one of the following topics chosen randomly:
      • My Future Plan.
      • A Business I Inspire Most.
      • A Business Leader I Inspire Most.
    • Evaluation Criteria:

      • Fluency in English.
      • Critical thinking and communication skills.
      • Alignment of your goals with the scholarship objectives.
  • Evaluation Committee:

    • A scholarship committee will review applications, conduct interviews, and make final selections based on eligibility, supporting documents, and interview performance.

Awarding and Notification

  • Successful applicants will receive an official notification detailing your scholarship level, terms, and conditions.
  • Scholarships will be applied directly to tuition fees and renewed annually based on continued eligibility.

Monitoring and Renewal

  • Performance Monitoring:

    • Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress and adhere to university policies.
  • Participation:

    • Scholarship holders are expected to actively participate in university activities and events.
  • Renewal Process:

    • Annual reviews of academic and extracurricular performance will determine scholarship renewal.
